Recently I’ve been really getting into this whole statement jewellery trend, as I’ve found and as I’m sure a lot of you already know, that it can really pull an outfit together. With all the 21st’s I’ve been attending this year (literally one every weekend) it can be hard to keep your outfits exciting and fashionable every week. However so far, even though my bank account isn’t feeling it, I am enjoying the challenge!
There are so many different types of accessories out there that you can add to an outfit to spice things up - earrings, bracelets, necklaces, rings..
the list goes on. It used to be a "Rule" that you couldn't mix metals but now even that has changed, opening up so many more styling options! A new jewellery trend that I was keen to try was the choker piece, however I wasn't 100% sold on any material ones that I came across in stores. However when I first laid my eyes on this gorgeous choker from Francesca, I was sold!
It's so simple and edgy but classy at the same time! Not only that, but it goes with so many different outfit options. From a T-shirt, to a dress. A button up shirt, to a plunging crop top.. I'm really not sure what it wouldn't go with!
One thing about this choker trend that did concern me was the comfort levels of the pieces ie. if would it feel restraining on the throat. The answer is not at all! This piece in particular sits a little above your collar bone and to be honest I always forget that I'm wearing it because it doesn't move!
What I also like about this particular choker is that it has a chain at the back where you are able to adjust the tightness so it fits to your own personal neck with. This is super handy because for one, like I said before it means it doesn't choke you. And two, it allows you to choose how high up the piece sits on your neck.
All-in all I think discovering my love for this piece of jewellery really was a bit of a learning curve in a way. I think from here I am going to try and be a little more experimental with my style and not be afraid to try new, out there pieces!
